How Long Will It Take To Achieve The Results You Want? Part 2

Understand the time commitment it will take to be prepared

Do you have a goal event you want to complete? Great!

The first thing you must do is understand what amount of time you reasonably have to commit to the preparation.

In my Part 1 post on this topic I explained why understanding your realistic available time to train is important and exactly how to calculate your own.

Once you know your available time to prepare, now it’s time to dive into the preparation time it will take to get the result you want based on the distance of event you wish to complete.

Here is an estimation of the time required to prepare based on the distance of the event:

With these estimates you can pick an event that fits with your realistic training time that you calculated using the formula in the previous post here.

By going through this process you can commit to a program that will fit into your current life rather than trying to fit your life around a generic program. Most importantly, you will be able to train consistently while still making time for the things you value most in your life.

When you do this you will set yourself up to enjoy the journey of preparation and be ready to have a great day when the event arrives!
